Let’s Talk About Image
When the word “image” comes to mind, how a person looks is the norm. People are generally visual. An assessment is made about a person according to what is seen on the outside, how they look, talk, conduct themselves, and treat others. The big question is, “how does a person want to look/how do they want to be seen?”
“Roughly 80% to 97% of people acknowledge that individuals are routinely judged based on how they look. For instance, global surveys on women report that up to 97% feel they are judged on their appearance, and broader national polls show that 80% of respondents agree that "everyone judges looks (Pergament, 2016)"
This is not about outside opinions, it is about how a person wants to represent themselves, family, brand, company, business, etc. Opportunity is always knocking and feelings change all of the time. So the choice is dressing according to the mindset at the moment or always being ready for the next door of opportunity to open. The absolute key here is physically presenting oneself according to where the vision/dream is or is going.
For example: owning a boutique or online clothing store the owner should be a visual representation/advertisement for the business. It is the same way for a hair stylist. Word of mouth is powerful. Social media is an amazing tool, But, compliments and in person inquiries present opportunities to talk about products and services the business offers. Being a free visual representation of what is in store for doing business at the owners establishment is priceless.
The Visual Representation
Clothing and accessories can be expensive in today’s economy. There are many ways to find economical wardrobe items and put them together to look like the business. This is one of the subjects discussed in a “What About You” session. Along with “what is the goal and vision?”
